Berta Culp (October 6, 1880 - October 13, 1970, the "Dutch nightengale"
was born in Holland. She started her musical career as a violinit
and made her vocal debut in 1893. She made some 90 recordings
between 1901 and 1924.

performs the classic "Silent Night, Holy Night" in German. Julia's
performance of Stille Nacht was originally released by Victor in 1914
on a single sided, ten inch Red Seal record 67377; the cost was $1.25.
It was released again on a double sided, ten inch Red Seal record 566,
side A; the cost was about $2.
Tech Tidbits:
Victrola Red Seal 566-A was transfered with a 3.5 mil truncated elliptical
stylus in a Stanton 500 stereo cartridge at 78 rpm on a United Audio Dual 1219
turntable.
