About Billy Murray
Turtle Talk:
C.R. Foster and Byron Gay wrote the words for "The Little Ford Rambled Right Along." Byron Gay wrote the music. It was copyrighted in 1914 by the C.R. Foster Publishing Co., Los Angeles, CA.
Tech Tidbits:
Victor 17755-A was transferred using a 2.3mil truncated elliptical stylus in a Stanton 500 stereo cartridge at 76 rpm on a United Audio Dual 1219 turntable.
When orgianlly posted in February
2000, Turtle felt this performance should be heard at about 74 rpm. Turtle used
digital signal processing technology to slow the 76 rpm transfer to about 74
rpm. Recently, however, a Friend of the Jukebox suggested that Billy "sounds
a bit lackadaisical." Thank you Friend for the feedback.
Turtle listened to the 74 rpm version and agrees 100%. Billy "has been
returned to about 78 rpm."
